Join/Renew

The process of becoming a member or renewing your membership of Nanaimo Paddlers is a simple multi-step process. This website contains all the information about the club, like club origin, FAQs, contacting the executive, skill development, reference links, participant guidelines and club news.  Events, however are managed through Meetup - an online group and event managing tool.

Annual fees are $40 per person.  Membership is from January 1 to December 31 each year.

In order to become a participating member of Nanaimo Paddlers or renew your membership each member must do the following:
  1. Ensure your kayak and equipment meet our club requirements (see our About page). 
  2. Sign the waiver.
  3. Submit annual membership fee to the treasurer using PayPal.
  4. Fill in the self-assessment skills survey
  5. Request access to the Meetup group.

When you are ready to become a member click on the Sign Waiver button below to be presented with the online waiver for digital signing.  Once you have signed the waiver you will have to confirm your email address if you have never signed the waiver before. If you have signed a waiver in the past you won't need to confirm your email address (unless it has changed).

Once you have signe the waiver you can use the payment button to submit payment. Dues can be paid online using a credit card or, for those with PayPal accounts, from your PayPal account. To submit your dues click on the orange button below.  This will take you to the PayPal payment page where you can select whether to pay by credit card or using your PayPal account.  To pay by credit card click the "Pay with a credit card or Visa Debit card". 


Once you have successfully submitted your payment a button entitled "Return to Merchant" will be shown.  When you click on this button you will be presented with this page again

Next you will need to fill in the self-assessment form.

Lastly, request access to the NanaimoPaddlers Meetup group if you are a new member.  If you are renewing your membership then you will already have access to the meetup group. To request access to the group log in to Meetup.com (create an account if you don't already have one) and request access to join the Nanaimo Paddlers group. Once the treasurer has confirmed payment and the membership director has confirmed waiver signing and you have requested membership to the Nanaimo Paddlers meetup group, you will be granted access to the Meetup pages where you can register for club events, e.g. paddles and off-water activities.
